The most sustainable building is one that already exists – Retrofitting existing structures and buildings is therefore critical to the regeneration and ongoing sustainability of our homes, communities and cities. In this workshop participants will spend a full day at a retrofitted home on Waiheke Island and learn from an expert in the field the key concepts needed to retrofit for energy efficiency, accessibility, comfort and healthy living in the Auckland bioregion. From this context students will learn and apply the skills and techniques required to work with and retrofit existing structures. This workshop is essential for anyone wanting to renovate or seeking to improve the health, efficiency and comfort of their home and community.
