Event Description

Vincent Dickie from Grey Lynn Farmers’ Market Inc will be guest speaker at the next meeting of Torbay Transition Town .
Transition Towns is a vibrant world-wide organization finding answers to the social, economic, and environmental issues facing humanity in the 21st century.
Grey Lynn Farmers' Market Incorporated is a community organisation beginning an inner-city farmer’s market from 6th September.
Their aim is to draw their community together on a weekly basis to offer fresh local produce as well as provide a model of urban sustainability and community self-sufficiency that can be used in other urban areas.
In time there will also be free cooking demonstrations on how to prepare fresh and healthy produce.
The monthly Torbay Transition Town meeting will be held at the Community Centre at 2 Glen Road Browns Bay, on Thursday August 6th, at 7.30.
This meeting has a “food & gardening” theme, all are welcome (gold coin donation) and further discussion and networking will take place.
