I will persist with this meanwhile for Otaki and what I need to know is how to change the title to Otaki and when. I have tried to use a wiki before but never quite got into the habit, was too tied to email as a means of communication. Also the wiki I was using had a very very cluttered front page and it put me off big time. But for me this looks a little easier, especially when I have now learnt some fairly basic things like putting my favoured bookmarks in a bookmark bar. Compared to you two guys I am a relative novice at all this. But I found it easy a minute ago to change the colours and hopefully other things might be easy, dunno yet.
Click on this link -- http://nztransitiontowns.ning.com/main/admin/appProfile -- change the title of the site to "Otaki Transition Towns" or whatever else you might want. If this link takes you simply to the homepage, let me know and I'll guide you thru the steps via skype.
I would like to see a list of local producers/growers/suppliers who we could all support to improve the local economy and resources. It is frustrating that the Made in NZ brand is too expensive to permit the small guy to join in and it is impossible for the individual to support them as they are largely unrecognised. I'd like to nominate the first manufacturer of local footwear, Lastrite Footwear, 48 John St, Whangarei. Suport your locals, buy homemade/grown, and get something made to last!
Great idea. I've created a new Category named "Local Producers/growers/suppliers". Would you like to "add a discussion" and list a few producers, growers or suppliers. Describe them fully, including links to their websites. Be sure then, to categorize each item you add as "Local Producers/growers/suppliers".

The resources page appears to be in USA - is there a NZ resources page? That would seem to be appropriate place for announcement of Sustainable Living free web resources plus information on courses and workshops across NZ: http://www.sustainableliving.org.nz
