Is anyone interested in this topic ? If so have a look at this link. This is an entirely practical idea, a carry over from German research I think and adopted widely during the 2nd WW by both blocks, and here in NZ and OZ. This design is an updated version with added advantages and easy to build with some plumbing, soldering, brazing, and fitting skills. I want to get together a small group to build and test one on a stationary engine to generate standby power for perhaps my house, or anyones !
This design was put together for the US Dept of Energy. Perhaps they will need it soon !
Hi Geoff, I am interested in the project - do you have any materials already - also metal construction facilities - I have contacts with the fabrication department at MIT so may be able to help.
Thanks Don, I don't have any materials yet but do have a small group. My garage/shed would be suitable to work in. I have seen on this site someone in Auckland who has a working plant powering his small factory (30kw) but have had no reply from him. I'll try again.
I have been offered a Subaru car engine for the project. My local mechanic is interested too.
