Making Capitalism More Creative - Bill Gates Your thoughts please

Kia ora koutou,

I was given this document as a think piece. I would like to share it with the group and get your thoughts on what Bill Gates proposes here, interesting?

Would also be interested in getting peoples views of capitalism, inherent flaws and how this sits alongside the timebanking movement which takes us right out of aid provision and right into co-production.

Its abit long for me to read right now -il finish it later. I find stuff like this fascinating, since I dont fit in either the left, right,or green camps.

Interesting yes. To me the key is employment and housing-not gadgets and computers for africa like he suggests. Really its a war for the mind. An ignorant, consuming population is desirable. People who are stressed working too long for too little will never consider all these alternatives.
If people require two incomes to support a mortgage, not much else can happen. This is where social credit comes in[somehow]

Ive heard of this 'third way' before. It seems rather appropriate that those who are doing the most destruction, then offer an alternative. The opposition is then framed, thinking is encouraged in the box they created. A synthesis then emerges, which is the outcome they preferred!

The problem is that the bottom line still exits- with a layer of 'green'/hip/consumerism ontop.

I dont think 90% of aid helps,it simply keeps the corrupt governments alive.
