UK Transition Town Trainers offering Train the Trainer workshop

The following letter (see below) went out last week to one person in each Transition initiative (for them to forward), so this may be the second time you are reading this invitation. Please think seriously about this opportunity. it is possible that you could recoup the cost of attending this event by holding trainings (a great service opportunity) and charging an appropriate fee.

James

Imagine if there was someone each region of New Zealand who had the benefit of this course and could assist and support their local Transition initiatives. What a difference that could make!

4 - day "Train the Trainers" workshop
with UK TT trainers Naresh and Sophy

Naresh Giangrande and Sophy Banks have been running "Training for Transition" workshops in Totnes and around the UK since 2007. They will be in NZ in January 2009 and have agreed to run a "Train the Trainers" workshop, to pass on skills that will help resource us to build a strong movement in NZ.Our hope is that people from around NZ will attend, and take those skills back to their regions to run transition training workshops in their local areas.

The details are still being finalised but are currently as follows:

* Dates: 4 full days Friday 23 - Monday 26th January 2009
* Venue: the Earthsong Centre at Earthsong Eco-Neighbourhood, Ranui, Waitakere City, Auckland
* Cost: Currently expected to be $380 per person including healthy organic food and accommodation (billets or marae style)

Numbers are limited to 20 participants so we are encouraging expressions of interest from anyone interested as soon as possible. We would hope and expect that participants would have the endorsement and support of their local regions to attend, including financial support to assist with the costs, as the information that you will be bringing back and sharing with your region will be of great benefit to local TT initiatives.

I see on the list of those coming there is a column for payment - no one has paid yet, I could, but where do I send the cheque to?

Margaret
