HI all,
at the steering group meeting last tuesday, we discussed effective ways of communication between the steering group and interest groups, and also inbetween interest groups, as well as inside the groups. Sooo...
- we suggest that every group set up a google group and also appoint on person to write up notes after each meeting to post both here (on the comment wall), and at the Environment Centre on each groups wall space
- a member of the steering group will write a TT Whanganui summery at the end of each month and send it through the SW network, as well as posting it here and at the centre
- we will also put up a big calnder at the centre

If we're looking for a cinema ad, this could be a good starter:

We now have had a very successful first meeting - and have formed a steering group, whcih is meeting weekly on tuesday afternoons in the Environment Centre. Already interest groups are forming, most notably the food (next meeting sat 19th July Environment Centre) and community group (next meeting tomorrow, tue 14th July, 6pm at the centre) but we feel the need for an intense awareness raising programme, and that is what we are working on at the moment. These are exciting times!

We had an informal public discussion on TT just before Christmas and 40 people attended. Since then we have been so busy doing TT projects that we haven't got around to having our first formal TT meeting. Our Sustainable Living Centre at 38 Taupo Quay is providing a space where anyone can come in and use desks, computers, broadband, whiteboards, wall space and our communication systems to put there Transition Plans into action with other members of the community. The 600 sq m centre is offering a hub for our local complimentary currency - River Dollars, a show room for energy and food garden systems and a workshop for our Green Bike Scheme (based on the successful Palmerston Nth model). ph 06 3455 048
