New Zealand Transition Initiatives Social Network

From oil dependence to local resilience

Hi..just joined and keen to connect wihth others.

We are a family who are intending to leave the city behind and head rural in the next 12-18 months. We would like to form an intentional community with other like minded people in the Canterbury area.

Anyone working on a similar project or keen to get in at ground level on planning one?

Cheers

good morning Anna

Not quite  a year has passed, including several quakes and shakes. Just wondering if you ,out there, have started  to build. Maybe you already live there, away from city destructions. We are in a good spirit where we live, the land is safe and I am seriously looking for similar minded people to establish a sustainable pocket neighbourhood ,out here on Banks Peninsula.

Do you have more contacts/websites  you could suggest? and how do you go about with consents etc...would love to learn more.

with kind thoughts and in the hope you are all well

Just found this discussion... but comments are all very old... anyone still out there? I'm interested in living in a semi-rural fairly self sufficient community. How are you all going with your plans?
