It is common in the design process to reach a trade-off between 'green' and conventional, I think it is a shame how often green builders lack the conviction to make the choice they want; ignorance of how to skirt the law is no excuse!

On the other hand I know of at least one development where commitment to the organic quality of building materials has made relatively small units in a cheap area at a cost most would consider prohibitively expensive.

It should be possible to comply with law and affordability, if its not in the mainstream then whats the point?
