I found out about Transition Towns...
From a friend who told me
In the context of Transition Towns my interests / passions are:
Raising awareness of the need for action and ways to act; lobbying at national/int. level for action on environmental issues and trying to work with others to make changes at local levels. Esp. passionate about food (growing, eating, advocating on food politics issues), sustainable transport systems. I would like to get more involved (and learn more about) working with council and other groups on issues like waste magt.
What are you happy to share about yourself:
I moved to Otaki with my husband in September, so am still a newbie but really love it here and can't wait to get involved in the TT group and other great enviro initiatives.
I work in Wellington at the non-profit organisation Dev-Zone, producing a free magazine and a DVD/book library on global environmental and social issues (free to join and borrow, if you're keen, visit www.dev-zone.org).
