"Hi Belinda, Thanks, I'd be really interested in seeing the strawbale house. At the moment I'm only getting over to Gladstone every 2-3 weekends for a day of planting. Thinking about this Sunday, depending on weather and dependants. Andrew"

Forest Gardening

I am interested in having a group for people who either are in the process of growing an edible food forest or are interested in this.

Considering NZ imports the majority of its staple grains, such as wheat , rice etc, I am interested in looking into the viability of using the CSA model to help increase the production of these and other carbohydrate crops with the domestic market.See More

Purpose

Hi Cheri,When you set up this group, what were you hoping to create? Personally, as I'm sort of new to growing my own food I'm interested in ideas, support and guidance, particularly around heritage crops and regnerating native plants.I'm also interested in anyone who is or has built either straw bale or yurt houses.Cheers,AndrewSee More

Profile Information

I found out about Transition Towns...
When I was browsing the net
In the context of Transition Towns my interests / passions are:
Sustainable living, setting up and making the transition to living on a small farmlet
What are you happy to share about yourself:
Main goal is to live with a luxurious minimum. Building a small beautiful home (yurt and straw bale), growing enough food, regenarating native scrub (maybe I'll live long enough to see it become bush) to support bees and birds, creating no waste.
Where do you live (City or Town):
Pukerua Bay and Gladstone
Do you belong to a Transition initiative in New Zealand?
I would like to be put in touch with one
