I found out about Transition Towns...
From a friend who told me
In the context of Transition Towns my interests / passions are:
Community action for restorative future, 'green' jobs, getting beyond 'green', 'sustainability' to Restoration and Regeneration. Cradle to Cradle thinking and practice, meeting in community in conversations of invitation, possibility, ownership, dissent, commitment and gifts, cycling action, Frocks on Bikes, ways of connecting across strata of society (Intergenerationally and also across e.g. Intersect Young Professionals network, High school networks, uncovering people's gifts, uncovering our held unexamined assumptions (the immune system that holds the old in place), deep ecology and ways of understanding ourselves as part of nature.
This is part of our journey of becoming native to the planet.

I am growing my own capacity to work across difference (perceived boundaries) so that I am part of a movement bringing about a ecologically regenerating, social justice and fulfiled human presence.

I have an interest in good questions:
What would it be like and what would happen if we activated all our networks at the same time for inspired action for community and ecological health? What might this do for our communities, ecology and hearts?
(What are yours Qs?)

I am also learning to garden under the eyes of my quickly learning fiance Jennifer
What are you happy to share about yourself:
At this time, I call Bethells home.

I hold a vision for a restorative and regenerative human presence on this planet.
What does restorative industry look like?
What does restorative media look like?
What does restorative education look like?

I have Mechanical Engineering and Commerce training and left my role as an engineer in 2006 to work with young people, visioning a future that works for all, and convening groups around topics that matter. This has including bringing 100 young people together from around NZ to the Digital Earth Summit on Sustainability in 2006, travelling with a NZ Delegation to the next Summit in San Francisco, convening two gatherings with young changemakers from across NZ, the Intersect young professionals network, Facilitating leadership hui for Auckland High school student changemakers and visioning with young people for NZ 2025 for the Decade of Education for Sust Dev.

I am currently working with the Enviroschools Foundation on a project called ReGeneration '09 bringing high school student leaders together from across Aotearoa.
Where do you live (City or Town):
Bethells, Auckland
