Profile Information

I found out about Transition Towns...
Via an article in an overseas publication
In the context of Transition Towns my interests / passions are:
It is essential to help bring them in, as this is the only way forward. This is both my interest and my commitment.
i have been doing my best to share information about transition towns for quite some time. At present, I have sore eyes and cannot often use my computer.
So being in touch by telephone is best for me.
What are you happy to share about yourself:
I have a disability, but I have been working from home, on a voluntary basis, as an environmental activist for many years,
reading and writing letters to people. I have also grown native plants, firstly for the Forest & Bird Society as a fund raising project, then for the Department of Conservation.
I am not able to install Skype,
I may not be living here for all that long now.
Where do you live (City or Town):
Kawerau Eastern Bay of Plenty New Zealand

Hi Maggie. Skype itself is free to install and free to use with other skype users. The only extra equipment you will need is a headset -- here the in the US they cost about $20. Video is optional -- you will need to install a webcamera -- about US$45. If you happen to have a new notebook, many of them have microphones and webcams built into them. Go ahead and install skype even if you don't have a headset. My skype ID is LSQUIRESSKYPE.
