The Signs of Change Conference is inspired by the idea of exchange and conversation without having to travel. This is of course an innovation that will be of great use in the future, but also opens up the conversation to a lot more types of participants. Conference travel is expensive! In this light, we are making plans to have internet access to groups who organise a local node of the conference in their town. We don't want to do a webinar to people who are by themselves, part of the design is for local people to get together so that relevant local discussions and take place. You don't have to have the KAREN network, just a high enough speed internet connection that you can watch video from the web, and a data projector to share the conference with a group.
