In the context of Transition Towns my interests / passions are:
I'm Waimakariri District Mayor - Waimakariri includes the towns of Kaiapoi, Rangiora, Woodend, Oxford and the about-to-happen Pegasus.
What are you happy to share about yourself:
Recently retired school teacher. Been involved in local government since 1983.

My humble apologies! Unfortunately, as I've now retired from teaching, I no longer do de-programming so you'll just have to gone on suffering from this terrible affliction!
Seriously though, it's good to hear from you. I haven't really got into this Transitional Towns thing (yet!) as I'm back in local government after a six-year break and pretty busy.
One of the other people on the membership list, Matt Morris, is also ex-Cashmere, a bit after you - he was in a level of which I was Head and is now on the Shirley-Papanui Community Board.

Do you realise you and Karen Nairn are personally responsible for all sorts of shennanigans I've got myself into since I left high school just because you taught me 7th form history and geography? You both got me fired up and the fire still burns damn it.

Have often thought of tracking you down to tell you off about that. I have lost a lot of sleep and money over those shennanigans.
