Profile Information

I found out about Transition Towns...
From a friend who told me
In the context of Transition Towns my interests / passions are:
I am a part of Transition 'Harbour' , since we are including the whole harbour area with our ideas.
Being a part of a community garden, a food group and starting up a garden to table project at the local school says everything. Producing food locally, walking distance to pick it up, cooking with the freshest possible...selfsufficiency for as many as possible. And getting together for interesting pot luck events, i.e. garden or time bank evenings brings us together as a community.
What are you happy to share about yourself:
Coming from Europe in the mid ninties, I brought the idea of self-sufficiency, eco buildings and eco villages with me...and was surprised not to find much here, in a country with land and nature to being able to live this way.
I am often still dreaming of a cluster of houses with like minded neighbours, sharing as much as wanted or loved, children mingling and having fun, also intellecual exchange which I missed living very rural and islotaed for a few years.
We have now two beautiful children who make us think daily that it is all worthwhile to fight for a better community living. ...and saving the planet?
Where do you live (City or Town):
out of city
