Hi I'm looking for good examples and inspiration to take back to an urban agriculture/self-sufficiency project in the UK (www.incredible-edible-todmorden.co.uk) and was wondering if there were any courses, or organoponico sites I can visit while I'm…

Hi Grant, do you know that we have a website just for the Whangarei District? There you can list upcoming events, check what is happening in Whangarei or join the various groups for online discussions, group meetings or working bees. In case you want to join us there, please go to:
http://whangareitt.ning.com/
Hope to see you over there as well! :)

Sounds good Grant - just let me know when you set the date and we'll get organised. I have to be away for 4 days at end Sept but otherwise will be here.

I will be building a 10m bed for CBEC in the next few weeks it would be good to be able to do your workshop at the same time so we can reduce traveling costs and carbon footprint

Hi Grant. That sounds excellent. Lets keep in touch and I will talk to some locals. Would be keen to do something in Sept/early Oct if this works for you because up here it will soon get very hot and dry although not much chance of that with the weather at the moment! How are you placed over the next month or so? Sue

Kia Ora Grant. Have just been talking with John Kenderdine and realise that you were the 'Grant' at the TT Kaitaia mtg last night. I wish I had known! I've admired John's beds, have the DVD from Kaiwaka group workshop and would love to have you come up to us (at Houhora) and do a workshop on organiponica. I can easily organise some local gardeners keen to learn and pay for your time. I'm sure you have a busy schedule but if by any chance this were possible it would be very much appreciated. Ciao Sue

Hi Grant, great to see you on here bringing forth all the great work that you do and your website, which is such a great resource. Can you make it along to our meeting on Saturday morning at 10.30am at the Hort centre? Last week's meeting was short lived because the car park flooded. Did you get my text about our community garden project? We have a meeting in Tutukaka on Friday night and hopefully we'll get a big group on board to be part of the project, there's already a few of us. Next step would be to get you out and arrange for you to meet up with Ben Edgar (Blue Nikau). What's your home number again? Only have cell phone.

Also, come in to our Whangarei group, request to join and perhaps offer a discussion or comment telling people about your website, etc. Spread your light! Cheers mate, Genevieve

Welcome to the network Grant and what great photos. Thanks for posting a photo of yourself too, well the lower half of your face! I see there is a lot going on in your area. Hope you weren't too badly affected by the storms lately, another one to come..
