"I would support Renee Lee's social networking efforts. At least we need to compare it in the same manner as the others. Barring that, I could go for integrating the two current TT sites in NZ into one (thanks Rimu for your previous work as…"

In the context of Transition Towns my interests / passions are:
Helping us all to get to a post-petroleum-addiction phase. Time is running out!

Best thing we can do is act locally, building up community whereever we live. We can also look individually at our lifestyle habits; e.g., go vegan or vegetarian, use way less energy, and eat organic.
What are you happy to share about yourself:
I am green at heart, and committed to tenets of nonviolence in everyday life and in the larger world.

I will be back in NZ at some point; I am sojourning in Oz just now.
Where do you live (City or Town):
Morwell, Victoria, Australia

Hi Jay--just wanted to wish you a Happy New Year, plus let you know that PNCC has funded the Ashhurst-Pohangina complementary currency start-up. We're designing it so that our resources (the currency itself, the web site) could easily be used in other areas in the region & therefore skip the cost, so if you come across folks who would like to recruit a cluster of businesses in their own PN neighbourhood, get in touch. We're looking at a late May launch (perhaps third sunday in May?) at the Ashhurst Village Valley Centre. Still to be confirmed. Right now, I'm just trying to put together a steering committee for oversight of grant spending, direction, etc.

Thank you for the warm welcome Jay. I started the Wairarapa group by accident - was looking in the groups to see if there was one - well, now there is lol.

Thanks Jay....

I found the site yesterday and listed the groups with live link in my first blog where I will be updating it with new evolving groups in the process of setting up.

Thanks for your welcome Jay.

I will be checking out all that is available here as time allows. Do you have any links noting a list of NZ groups already established and/or in start up phase either in this or another system?

I wish to list them in my blog here for quick access, thanks. I do see that there are NZ groups who are utilising the CES software who are listed on timebanks.org website.

Hi Jay - thanks for the welcome a couple of months ago (and sorry about the late reply)! Since I joined the site, I've actually dropped the degree programme you asked about, and am making a documentary about Peak Oil, sustainability, and building resilience (see my profile for more info). So if you know of anything film-worthy, please let me know! (This applies to anyone else who sees this post too.)
