August 21, 2009 from 7:30pm to 9:30pm
Earth: The Climate WarsDr Iain Stewart investigates the counter attack that was launched by the global warming sceptics in the 1990s. At the start of the 1990s it seemed the world was united. Iain examines the scientific arguments that developed as the global warming sceptics took on the climate change consensus. The sceptics attacked…See More

Jeff Santa Barbara replied to Christoph Hensch's discussion Urban Foraging in Christchurch
"Very cool stuff, Christoph. Can I ask about the methodology of creating the map? Transition Motueka is looking at doing something similar, a food map essentially. Although we're a largely rural area, so it would be growers more than urban…"

Jeff Santa Barbara replied to Laura too's discussion Grow your own Grains in the group Community Supported Agriculture Investigation Group
"An advice for deterring birds? As you warned, sparrows harvested 100% of our wheat and most of our buckwheat. Pukekos got about 75% of our corn. The amaranth is coming along nicely, we'll see if the birds get that as well."

Community Supported Agriculture Investigation Group

Considering NZ imports the majority of its staple grains, such as wheat , rice etc, I am interested in looking into the viability of using the CSA model to help increase the production of these and other carbohydrate crops with the domestic market.See More

My travels took me to riverside for a summer as a learning experience for community living as this is a way of living which I believe is quintessential to humanity. Yet It did not sit right with my ideal concept of community living.

Motueka is a beautiful rich area Atamai I feel if steered under the right philosophy should be bountiful and prosperous.
Mad ups for for leading the way Jeff and peers!

Blessings!!!
