"Parsley only has a certain life - 2 years I think before it goes to seed and you will have hundreds of little plants coming up in your garden after a few months - which you will transplant to wherever you want them if you love parsley and use it as…"

Profile Information

In the context of Transition Towns my interests / passions are:
I see great changes coming and the need for adaptation. My strengths lie in using the earth to grow vegetables. I teach classes in this at a local community house and I also teach the using of and preserving of fresh food. This may seem odd to many who are aware of transition towns, but there are many people out there who burn water, who wouldn't know a savoy cabbage from an artichoke and who are learning important skills by attending these classes.
Where do you live (City or Town):
Ranui, Waitakere City

Hi Karen, It's great to see you here! Let me know if I can help you with your photo... cropping, sizing, adjusting contrast, fitting it to the site, etc. Then when I've returned it to you, you can post it to the site at Profile Photo. Photos become very important as our group grows.

Welcome Karen. We are all going to have to learn how to preserve food without the use of freezing or of bottling. I have recently learnt to make whey from raw organic milk, then I use it to make sauerkraut. Why don't you start a national group on preserving fresh food on this ning site? And did you see Kay Baxter's article in the recent Organic NZ magazine?
