Hi Kowhai,

Christoph Hensch who started the Transition Forum group in Christchurch has asked if there are any proposals for for community education classes next term. CPIT apparently has some money. Are you interested in giving a permaculture introductory course perhaps at St Albans Community Centre? Ring me or Christoph at 374-2465.

Greetings, Kowhai :)
Yes, I certainly can help you with a bicycle & trailer that can be used to cart around tools, machinery, materials, etc; I've used my current medium-sized trailer to cart around some such things already, and a few months ago I was about to use it to carry home a second-hand washing machine :)
And if you want electric assist for it (eg for starting up at the lights, for going up hills), then I can do that too. :)
Steve. :)

Hello Kowhai.
A friend of mine is looking for 3 people to house share with him. He's a Japanese woofer living on 10 acres in Sefton (30mins NTH). He's asking $80 plus expenses. Let me know if you would like to be connected

Hey there. Heartwood has two houses based in Christchurch (Chippenham and Mansfield) and Gricklegrass in Oxford. So if you are looking for a city place there is that as an option also. The best of both world, in my opinion.

Peace

Meaghan.

That message just sent went "out-of-context". It was part of my 'hello' note to you and had to be chopped because of a 200 character limit. Anyway, it should be clear, I LOVE your vision and want something similar.
I'm up for time in nature :D sometime soon, a Monday, Wednesday or Friday when the weather's good, and commitments at work and supporting an ill friend allow. Where are you the other days?
My contact details are, work: VerityR@cpit.ac.nz, 940 8301, home: 981 4544, and mobile 021 155 6143.
Hugs and bessings
Rex

I want something similar, 'though if it's urban and the kids are still with me (for quite a few years yet I hope) I very strongly prefer Opawa or some other suburb in the south-east. I'm torn between, on the one hand, creating community and retro-fitting urban housing and, on the other, creating a rural eco-community with purpose-built sustainable housing and permaculture/edible landscape and so I've recently started looking again at possibilities on land outside but close to Christchurch (especially Halswell, Lansdowne Valley, Tai Tapu and around Lyttelton Harbour, Governor's Bay to Purau).
