Thanks for the warm welcome and I have now posted a photo that was takem under duress only a few minutes ago ! Like you I have a long association with anti-smoking and have taken the line of helping people to quite through positive replacement of alternative desires. My involvement with LETS scheme goes back to Nelson in about 1989 when I was involved with setting up the Nelson Independent Barter System as the existing one seemed to be reliant on the government giving money (real money) to the Nelson Unemployed Workers Trust to help them set up a LETS system. They did not want to use computers to keep their records and as this was my special subject which I taught at Tertiary level, I was encouraged to help start an alternative to the NUWT scheme. See you next Saturday
I am happy that Genevieve has asked me to become involved with Transition Towns initiative. I have put a menu item on our website - Kiway.co.nz - so that we can keep up local initiative events and news. Also we want as many people as possible to be able to write helpful articles that can be published and shared with others. In this way we hope that Kiway (The Kiwi Way) can be a vehicle for cooperative and collective practical ventures. The site has a full online editing facility which is available to you when you login as a member - There is no cost involved and no details are required that may be sold on to any third party.
So if you have anything at all that you want to share with others, we will make you an "author"
