- I am a school teacher (secondary science) in Kaitaia. I have been interested in self-sufficiency from an early age - I was a young-un during the 70's oil crisis.

No not real personal. My mother is quite frail and elderly and needs the family closer. She is down in Whangaparaoa so we have relocated to Warkworth to give her more support.
This way I don't have to drive as much as I have been. Its a bit rich to be banging on about peak oil and the environment and then get in the car and drive 4 hours down to Auckland every couple of weeks.
I am glad the ball has gotten rolling in Kaitaia and I am still with you guys in spirit. I will remain part of the group so if anyone wants to bounce ideas around I am only an email away.
