I found out about Transition Towns...
When I was browsing the net
In the context of Transition Towns my interests / passions are:
Growing organic food, water harvesting, sustainable agriculture, vermicomposting, reducing our carbon footprint, eco building, working more harmoniously with the environment rather than against it
What are you happy to share about yourself:
Have been interested in less complicated lifestyles for over 3 decades. Joined the Hare Krishna movement in the late 70's which is a major advocate of many of these principles people are becoming more familiar with these days. Spent nearly 20 years in India, much of it rural, where the locals do lead, even today, a simple balanced lifestyle much more in tune with nature and so much less dependent on current "fashion" in all it's aspects. I'm happy to see people here in the West now trying to adopt the community self sufficiency paradigm that has kept these huge numbers of people in countries such as India functioning healthily for thousands of years.
Where do you live (City or Town):
Christchurch
